What was your first concert?
In 1986 for my 13th birthday my mom got me the greatest present ever. To this day best ever. Tickets to see AC/DC on the Who Made Who Tour and the Who Made Who LP. I still have the t-shirt. It is so thread bare that it is as see through as nylons. I will NEVER get rid of it. I have even thought of framing it. I have probably worn it 2,000 times. Here it is:
I have seen AC/DC four times since then and is still my favorite band. In addition, i have seen Bon Jovi, ZZ Top (4 times), Fishbone, SRV, and so many others I cant even remember them all. I even have the hearing loss to prove it.So, what was your first?
I've got the same hearing loss. ;)
ReplyDeleteMy first concert was Siouxsie and the Banshees back in 1982 or so. I had a thing for goth girls back then. Still do, but women now.
Wow, I can't believe you still have it!
ReplyDeleteDue to some memory loss ;) I'll just say that my most memorable show was Pink Floyd. I doubt it will ever be topped.
Mom happened to like AC/DC, too.
ReplyDeleteDidn't Joan Jett open?
Pretty sure it was the Who - 1971!
ReplyDeleteSome of my earliest were The Doors, Paul Revere and the Raiders, The Byrds. I don't remember which was first, but it might have been the Raiders.
ReplyDeleteI think mine was Eric Clapton in the 70's. I got a great t shirt, but it became a dust rag many years ago. Wish I had had some forethought to keep it.
ReplyDeleteAlison in Tucson
I am almost to old to remember my first, but I am pretty sure it was Nazareth, my last was Rod Stewart about a year ago. Too many to count in between.
ReplyDeleteOn a related note, AC/DC played her last night (Phoenix). I have no desire to see the lads, but I have to admit that I would be curious to see Angus strutting on stage in his school boy uniform at the rip old age of 50+. I only saw AC/DC once in the past, when they were the opening act for Areosmith back in the late 70s.
@BobG - Cool about the Raiders!
ReplyDeleteI saw the Janet Jackson "If" concert when I was in 6th grade, so that would be 12 years old, maybe I was 13. my best friends parents took me, and the father wouldn't let us share the binoculars!
ReplyDeleteMy first concert was Karen and Richard Carpenter when I was in the sixth grade I think. What can I say, I ran with a fast crowd. Since the first I have seen and heard, ELO, ZZTop, Boston, Linda Rhonstadt, Heart, Sammy Hagar, Eagles, Joe Walsh, Willie Nelson, Alabama, Jimmy Buffet, Michael Martin Murphy Kenny Rogers, George Straight, Crystal Gayle, Beach Boys, Neil Diamond and others who I can not remember.
