Travel with George

Wife, LilGuns and Grandma had left for Hungary a full 10 days earlier than George and I.  He had to mind the Garage and get repairs done before leaving and I dont have that much vacation time.  So were left to travel together.  My dad picked us up and brought us to Logan airport. (Thanks Dad).  George and I then proceeded to get our tickets, check bags and all that wicked fun traveling shit.  Once we were through and found our gate we realized we had more than an hour to kill before boarding.  So we sat in at the nearest bar, order beers and watched the World Cup game.
Six beers later (each) and after a quick pit stop, we glided over to our gate for boarding.
Once we made it into the Charles DeGaule airport  in France and figured out what the hell to do there we managed to find our gate (Pict).  It was about 7:30am local time and George found a couple of 5% 0.5 liter Heineken cans to past the time before the flight to Budapest.
The flight to Hungary was relatively uninteresting except for the decent picture of the Alps I took from the plane window. The moral of the story is, if you can call it a moral, is when traveling with George be prepared to drink beers as many and often as possible.

Beer Review

I need to friggin' man it up around here. Have you been reading my DaddyPosts? Good lord, I sound like a domesticated pansy. So, in an effort to counter-balance the wimpy daddy posts I will present a review of the latest six-pack of beer I polished off and pissed out. I now present a short review of:
STONE IPA
I pick up this $10-ish dollar six pack at a local place at around lunch time on a Friday. With dinner I cracked open the first of these 6.9% alcohol beauties. From the first sip I knew these six hoppy tasting soldiers would all be going down tonight. And go down they did. The hazy golden color. The sweet hop aroama. How could I go wrong? All six, gone between 7:15 and 9:30 pm. I passed out watching a DVR'd episode of The Unit by 9:45....in retrospect this isn't quite as manly as I imagined. (cinemax softcore porn would have been more manly) But shit, it could have been worse, i could have been watching Ghost Whisperer re-runs.

Bottom line- Drink this beer-Its great!

A Good Load

Last Sunday we went up back of the house to clear brush and get some cord wood. Wintahs Commin' dont ya know? We were up there for a couple of house loading this truck (see pic) with all the brush and junk wood for transport down to the pit for burnin'. The hardwood has been real nice from this spot...mostly beech. Beech burns real good. Long and hot. Anyway, as we were loading the truck the pile started to get too high to reach so my brother went up top and I handed him limbs from below and we were able to really stack that shit high. We even inserted long 'pole-like limbs to build the effective side walls higher. We even got a 'thats a good load' from the ol' timer next door. Now THAT is best comment possible.

So here we are enjoying the fruits (or should I say beers) of our labor.

Raleigh update

I FINALLY got some sweet tires for the Raleigh. Then I took it with me to work last week and went for a spin around town and swung by Percy's to show it off. But it was one comment from 'dude' there that irked me. "Whats up with the double ring?" Well, I just didn't feel like doin' anything about it, and it functions perfectly. *grrrr*

So the next day I went to HomeDesperate and got a cutting kit for my Dremel. I had heard this could be done, so why not try it. Whats the worst thing that can happen? I toast a crap pair of cranks.

That night, I got a couple of beers, some goggles and set to 'er. The results aint that bad actually. And I only cut my thumb once and nicked crank arm once as well.
