Testing

This morning a got an idea. I wonder, since I spend about 2 hours on the road every day, lets try a little self promotion.

Who knows? it's just an experiment

I'm guessing that Ill get one hit at best and once the next storm rolls in, my window add will be erased.

So, did it work? Leave a comment if you saw me driving to or from Portland today. Or leave a comment with your thoughts.

Sea Level Rise

I actually had a little while to screw around with Google this weekend and I came across a cool widget and a cool feature that are available for google maps. The widget is a sea level rise display.

Here is the scenario for Boston, Massachusetts for 2 meter , 6 meter and 10 meter sea level increases.

A web article I found HERE indicates that a sea level change as much as 70 Meters is possible.

The other cool feature running right now is that google has done a street level view of all the 2008 Tour de France stages. Very cool if you are a cycling geek. See it HERE.

Have Fun Kids.

GMAP Pedometer

Through BikeJournal.com, I just discovered Googles, GMAP Pedometer. If you havent seen or tried it check it out. Basically, it allows you, via google maps, to map a track log or cue sheet for walking, biking and jogging routes. I use it for cycling, but it would also be great for sending directions to a visiting relavitve perhaps or directions to your company or any other application like that.

Here is a screen cap -->

I made this route today, based on a typical route we (wife and I) take cycling.
